Wild Honey Bees

I’ve been away for a few days, hence things going a bit quiet on the blogging front.  I’ll put a proper piece on here soon, but in the meantime, check out the honey bee colony Lola and I happen upon the other evening.  For the purpose of scale, the green tree shelter is about 10cm across.  We went back to check on them the morning afterwards, when we figured the workers would be out foraging.  The picture of  just a couple of dozen bees crawling around on the tree shelter would suggest that the spectacle we saw the previous evening was a solid mass of writhing bees!  Quite a sight.

    • Oh yes; they do get a bit annoyed if you get too close!
