A Trip to Wales

I’ve just spent a couple of weeks down West, hence nothing blogged for a while, so here’s a quicky for know.  A few days camping in the wonderful Welsh Mountains of the Brecon Beacons, followed by a week spent staying in a neat little cottage by the Gower coast.  Very fine locations for the naturalist and inspirational spaces for the mind to extend into.  Places where ice-gouged valleys drop vertiginously and breathtakingly away beneath your feet and where ebbing Antlantic tides glitter beneath the clifftops, taking the imagination away across the waves and who knows where.  Oh, and they are also very good for upland bird watching, unusual plants  and deeply intriguing  rockpools.  More on those very soon.  In the meantime, here’s a picture of Three Cliffs Bay, looking across the snaking Pennard Pill.
